Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a artist who was born in Newark, New Jersey on the 9th of August 1963. Her parents are gospel singers Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick also sings. In Newark, Whitney began singing with the choir of the church when she was a young child. When she was 15 years old, she accompanied her mother backing vocals in Chaka's smash Im Every Woman from 1978. Later, she provided backing vocals to Lou Rawls & Jermaine jackson and her mother. Her first gig was as a lead vocalist with the band from New York called Material and it was the quality of her vocal work in the band that caught the attention of the major record labels including Arista with whom she signed in 1983 and where she would remain for the remainder of her career. Whitney Houston was her debut album. Whitney Houston was released in 1985 and quickly became the top-selling album by a debut artist. Songs like The Greatest Love of All, How Will I Know If You Give Good Love or Save All My Love were all released on the album. These songs helped Houston to achieve seven US top tens, which surpassed even those of The Beatles. The album sold US 3,000,000 copies, and later increased to 25 million world-wide. The album gave her the first of the six Grammy Awards she has won. The Whitney sequel in 1987, featuring the singles How Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to expand on the popularity of her first album. It was, however, the 1992 movie The Bodyguard that solidified her status as one the world's most popular artists. Although her performance in the film as well as its soundtrack weren't well-received however, the Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and The Bodyguard album that accompanied it topped charts around the globe for months. The same year, she was married to Bobby Brown who was a ex- New Edition singer. She was the sole daughter of Bobby and Bobbi Kristina Brown. They were married on March 23, 1993. In 1996, her consumption of the drug was well-documented.
Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she works for CNN as a reporter, anchorwoman as well as a political correspondent. Her past work includes NBC, CBS and other notable channels.
